Rugby Rise

What is Rugby Rise?

Rugby Rise is a place-based pilot project designed to inspire young people (aged 14–19) across Wirral to get active through rugby-based activities.

Funded by England Rugby, the project aims to transform how rugby is delivered—making it more relevant, inclusive, and appealing to today’s young people.

Currently

Currently, only 47% of young people meet the Chief Medical Officers’ guidelines of at least 60 minutes of sport and physical activity per day.

By listening to young people and understanding the barriers they face, Rugby Rise is creating new opportunities for them to shape what rugby looks like and how it fits into their lives.

Our Aim

Our aim is to connect more young people across Wirral with rugby, building an inclusive, visible, and sustainable rugby culture. Rugby Rise empowers young people to be active, to belong, and to lead positive change in their communities.
