SUMMER HOLIDAY PROGRAMME 2026

The Active Allsports holiday disability activity programmes offers children and young people with a disability or additional need the opportunity to stay healthy and active through the holidays.

Parents, carers and siblings are welcome to all sessions. The full timetable and activity information can be viewed below, please read before calling to confirm and pay for your booking.

Additional activity information 

Please read before making a booking:

  • This programme is for the ages 5-19 years, unless it is the family swim.
  • Limited spaces are available for all activities
  • Payment must be made at time of booking
  • Bookings must be made via the Leisure telephone team on 0151 606 2010
  • Siblings are welcome but must be booked and paid onto the activity
  • Long hair should be tied back
  • Participants should bring their own refreshments
  • Participants must wear appropriate clothing for the activity they are attending
  • Cancellations must be made 48 hours prior to the activity

Active Zone SEN Session

Our SEN sessions offer a quieter, safer environment with reduced participant numbers. Enjoy 2 hours in the Active Zone, including 3 games of Tag Active.

Maximum 20 children in Soft Play
Maximum 20 children in the Tag Active arena

Tag Active (ages 8+) is a fun, multi-level interactive arena featuring climbing, running, balancing, and point-scoring challenges.
Soft Play (ages 0–7) includes slides, tunnels, climbing features, and play areas, plus a dedicated baby and toddler zone.
Please note: Long sleeves and trousers are recommended.

BOWLING

  • Session provides two games of indoor ten-pin bowling.
  • Hire shoes will be available so socks are advised, participant can wear trainers if preferred 

Meeting Place: meet and register with a member of the AA team at the reception area

DANCE

Get active and have fun this school holiday at our Dance Club sessions! Children will enjoy learning a variety of dance styles, building confidence, and making new friends in a safe and friendly environment. Sessions include warm-ups, fun routines, games. Suitable for all abilities.

Meeting Place: Bidston Leisure Centre, meet and register at the reception

SWIM SESSIONS

  • Fun recreational pool session
  • Please note that parents and carers will need to enter and support their children in the water
  • Arrive 10 minutes before the session to change.
  • Cost £3.00 per Child with adults attending for free.
  • Max of 5 persons per booking
  • All children who are unable to swim, all under 8 year olds and all children with complex needs MUST be accompanied by a parent/carer
  • Pool hoist available on site

FOOTGOLF

Footgolf is a game of golf played with a football. Take it in turns to kick the ball around the course aiming for the larger hole on each green. Count your scores to see who wins! The object of the game is to get the ball into the hole using only your feet in the fewest number of shots possible.

Teddy Bears Picnic

Children are invited to bring along their favourite teddy bear and their own packed lunch to enjoy a fun and relaxed picnic experience.

  • Bring a picnic/ blanket
  • The session will include a variety of interactive and playful activities such as hula hooping, parachute games, and ball games, designed to encourage movement and enjoyment.
  • Activities will be delivered in a safe, inclusive environment.

Wheels For all

Inclusive Cycling activities take place along the accessible paths within Birkenhead Park, providing a safe and enjoyable environment for people of all ages and abilities to cycle, build confidence, and stay active.

Meeting Place: Birkenhead Park, Football Changing Rooms, Adjacent to the Children’s Playground.

Tennis

Join us at Bidston Sports & Activity Centre for a session of enjoyment and engagement. This session is all about tennis made to be fun.
Equipment will be provided.

Meeting Place: The Oval leisure centre reception.

Trampolining

This specially adapted trampoline session includes learning basic skills of trampolining. Additional help from parents/carers be required to spot around the trampoline.

  • Limited spaces are available
  • Siblings are welcome
  • All participants should wear clothing that is appropriate for physical activity. Nonslip socks are recommended for this session
  • Participants to bring their own refreshments
  • Long hair should be tied back

Multi Sports Session

Join us for a fun, fully inclusive Multi‑Sports Session featuring Tennis, Basketball, Parachute Games and Hockey!
Designed for children of all abilities, this session focuses on participation, enjoyment and confidence‑building in a safe and supportive environment.

Meeting Place: The Oval Leisure centre reception.

Tam O’Shanter Farm – Bidston

Join us at the farm and visit a wide range of animals including pigs, goats, ponies, sheep, alpacas, ducks and more. All participants will explore the animal’s habitats and have the opportunity to feed and pet the fantastic Alpacas , Pigs and lots more animals. With lots of Halloween themed activities within the farm.

The farm provides an enjoyable and educational experience for children and adults.

Meeting Place: meet and register with a member of the AA team at the front entrance of the Farm.
